Accountancy Advisor needed for an immediate start on a long-term position with a public sector organisation in Bedford.

You must be AAT qualified. Part Qualified or have 5 years or more experience in finance.

Reporting to the Principal Accountant you will be responsible for:

Statement of Accounts
Treasury Management and Banking
Credit Control

Your duties will include:

Preparing financial statements
Maintaining a register of financial grants and ensuring that the financial requirements are being adhered to as well as the liaison with the District Auditor on year end grant claims.
Reviewing processes to promote best practice, ensuring compliance with audit recommendations and HMRC legislation
Assisting the Principal Accountant in the preparation and monitoring of the business areas capital and revenue budgets.
Providing financial advice to Business Managers in the day to day management of their budgets
Provision of timely and accurate financial information to the Principal Accountant and Business Managers
Providing information and advice to budget holders and managers
Ensuring all expenditure and income is dealt with in accordance with financial regulations

To be considered for the role you must have excellent communication skills, including being able to liaise with auditors. Strong excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLook-ups. You must be able to interpret and apply regulations and financial instructions, work under pressure and to meet deadlines. You must be confident to attend meetings and project boards and advise on matters in area of responsibility.
