Our client, a worldwide I.T services provided, is seeking a talented, driven and enthusiastic individual with an excellent customer service ethos and the technical ability to operate in a Desktop Support Engineer role. You will be delivering outstanding technical support to a range of company clients in line with the Technical Services function, as well as visiting client sites to provide hands-on support. Working closely within a team of support staff, you will provide support for our clients market leading service offering. We are looking for passionate individuals with a genuine interest in progressing within the I.T industry. The successful candidate will be required to work between customer sites in London and the company head office in Watford. This role is typically suited to candidates with strong 1st line support experience and those who looking to take a step up in their careers. Our client will also have great training available to develop your skills and further your knowledge. Desktop Support Engineer responsibilities:
• A variety of service desk, desktop, telephone, remote and client facing support, including project based work and out of hours maintenance
• Windows Server 2008 / 2012 / 2016 configuration and administration
• Active Directory configuration and administration for operational and security schemas, including Group Policy management
• Windows deployment, imaging technology including building images from scratch – Windows 7 /10
• On-site hardware support (Laptops/Desktops/Peripherals)
• Creation of technical support documentation (design, transition, operate)
• Handling call escalations to resolve tickets that are escalated
• Liaising with vendors to escalate issues that cannot be resolved in-house

This busy role will require all-round IT support experience and good customer service skills. Our client takes great pride in the services they offer and they are seeking candidates with a true passion for IT and service.

Desired skills and experience:

• Strong Windows 7/10, Windows Server (Apply online only)) and Microsoft Office 365 experience
• Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013/2016 experience
• Microsoft Active Directory 2008(R2)/ 2012 / 2016 knowledge
• Proficient with Microsoft Office365 applications
• Virtual app experience (knowledge of Citrix Xen App & Citrix Xen Desktop and VMware would be advantageous)
• Strong communication skills, able to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel
• Comfortable managing varied workloads, able to manage and prioritise tasks and demonstrate strong SLA awareness
