Job Title: - CNC Machinist – Lathe Setter/Operator

Hours of Work – Days /Afters Weekly rotating

Salary/Rate - £22,000 to £28,000

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, an international manufacturing business with multiple sites worldwide. They have an immediate requirement for a skilled CNC Turner to join their facility in the Nottinghamshire area.

As a CNC Turner you will be primarily responsible for setting and operating CNC Lathes working with Fanuc CNC work centres.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for setting and operating CNC Lathes, perform machine set ups to obtain close tolerances, fitting and alignment of machined parts.

Examine machine to become familiar with tooling set up, change tool offsets to keep dimensions within specified drawing tolerances and according to system process control results.

Perform in-process inspection including key characteristics using a wide variety of measuring devices, including both contact and non-contact CMM’s, conventional Measuring Equipment and shadowgraphs, recording all measurements on the Quality Data System.

Conduct first off inspections, prior to Quality Assurance approval according to prescribed procedure.

De-burr parts with minimal disruption to material problems that could slow down or stop production.

Complete and maintain all necessary records of time, part counts, last piece inspections and others for each job.

Inform the Production Supervisor of any machinery or material problems which could slow down or stop production.

Maintain work area in a safe, clean and orderly manner. This includes conforming to quality standards.

To participate in Lean Six Sigma and process improvement activities when required.

Required Skills:

· Ability to use measuring equipment and interpret drawings.
· Ability to set Fanuc Machines.
· Ability to use simple gauges or instruments.
· Working knowledge of mathematics in a manufacturing environment.
· Ability to work well within a team.
· Good communication skills.
· Good problem solving skills.

Required Experience:

· Able to demonstrate strong CNC machinist experience.
· Apprenticeship trained would be desirable but is not essential.
