Commercial Accountant – RB4

Salary: £35,000 - £37,000 (dependent upon experience)

Location: Stoke-On-Trent

What you'll do:

Reporting into the B2B & Wholesale Finance Manager, you’ll own and develop relevant, accurate and timely accounting and management information to Finance and Commercial Management. Leading our FP10 team of 4 direct reports and their teams, you’ll manage working capital and support the B2B manager in order to improve business performance and continually challenge performance.

Key Responsibilities include:

Responsible for development and production of relevant management accounts schedules and weekly sales reporting for distribution to the business
Responsible for end to end production of B2B and Wardles margin and contribute to the production of wholesale forecasts and budgets.
Work with the B2B Manager to produce margin budgets and forecasts
Produce, analyse and interpret weekly sales reports, liaising with BDMs with regards to customer specific reporting
Ownership of monthly accounts to include preparation, review and highlighting key trends and opportunities to improve business performance.
Maximise opportunities for financial analysis and investigation of results to explain any variances.
Own and develop robust reports on external customer behaviours that highlights risk and opportunity to the Business development team to ensure Wholesale business increases and grows.
Lead FP10 processing team and maintain the working capital by controlling the FP10 debtors.
Drive internal compliance within the Group to maximise EBITDA opportunity, report and communicate with multiple stakeholders across the business.
Responsible for production of financial evaluation for capital projects, including NPV & IRR calculations, for review and sign off by management.
Have an in depth understanding of all wholesale IS systems, in order to support the business and line manager on all wholesale IS related projects
Lead customer accounts assistants making sure that new accounts are set up promptly and accurately
Key knowledge and skills required for the role:

Exam qualified (ACCA, AAT, CIMA or other), with post qualified experience to include team management
Stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with ability to build and maintain effective relationships and to challenge senior stakeholders
Experience working in a commercial finance role within a retail or multi-site business
Experience of margin analysis and budget planning
Excellent analytical skills, with ability to access, review and effectively report on a broad range of data
Changes to Government funding affecting pharmacy contractor payments and varied drug tariff rules.
