Senior Rail Electrical Design Engineer (Electrification and Plant) – Top Tier Engineering Consultancy

Location: York
Salary: DOE + Excellent flexible benefits (i.e. profit reward scheme, healthcare, gym)

As Senior Design Engineer you will lead electrical (E&P) designs for a range of clients such as HS2 and Network Rail. You will ensure the successful delivery of technically excellent multidisciplinary rail projects and bids across the UK Rail portfolio.

As Senior Design Engineer you will:

* Determine the E&P - Lineside Electrical design requirements from our client brief and be able to make sound decisions and propose the right design solutions.
* Produce the required E&P - Lineside Electrical design (e.g. reports, layouts, schematics, cable calculations) to multidisciplinary design teams on large or medium sized projects.
* Check E&P - Lineside Electrical designs and calculations within implementation and renewal projects.
* Mentor and develop junior design engineers.

Role requirements:

* Must have rail electrical design experience.
* HNC/HND and above education in Engineering discipline, ideally Electrical.
* Experience in the production and checking of E&P – Lineside Electrical Feasibility, Scheme and Detailed Design reports, layouts, schematics and calculations (including Points Heating, 650V Signalling Power, Domestic Power Supplies, Earthing and Bonding) within multidisciplinary rail projects.
* Competent in the production of drawings using CAD (e.g. Bentley MicroStation) software
* Experience in undertaking site surveys / site visits and reporting on asset condition
* Experience in the use of calculation software (e.g. Amtech and ETAP)
* CRE experience highly desirable.
