We have an exciting position that’s just become available for a bright, tech savvy individual to join a boutique software solutions company, as a Trainee Helpdesk Officer. The perfect candidate would ideally be a fresh graduate of an IT focused degree; however, they would also consider an intelligent college leaver or junior looking to jump start their career in IT.

The role will involve a variety of responsibilities ranging from Helpdesk responsibilities such as investigating support tickets and understanding and resolving technical issues. However, there will also be a heavy focus on software testing and process development.

This company works across the UK and is looking to bring on someone who will thrive and flourish when learning to test and improve the company’s unique software.

They are offering a generous starting salary of between £17,000 to £20,000 (DOE). You will be supported within your role to develop and hone your skills in one of the following areas:

· Project Management

· Product Development

· Software Development and AGILE development processes

· Testing

· Helpdesk support and management

Key Responsibilities:

· Supporting project managers through destructive testing of newly released software.

· Testing fixes to bugs found in software.

· Assisting the Helpdesk in investigating support tickets, understanding the issue and transferring to technicians where technical expertise is required to fix the issue.

· Undertaking training that will enhance your expertise in a range of areas the company specialises in

· Carrying out admin tasks as and when needed.

About You:

· A diploma or degree level qualification in an ICT-related course or a qualification in ITIL.

· A good understanding of and interest in IT and web-based technologies.

· Be able to organise and prioritise tasks in a large and complex workload.

· Have a logical approach to investigating problems.

· Possess a willingness and ability to learn new processes and systems through practical demonstration and application.

· Excellent communication and presentation skills, to discuss and understand issues faced by housing staff and to explain and communicate these business issues to technicians.

· Meticulous attention to detail and absolute commitment to obtaining the highest level of quality in software releases, testing and bug fixes.

· Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly MS Word, Project and Excel.
