We are currently seeking a Quality Manager to work with the quality department of a fantastic growing automotive organisation in Portsmouth. The successful Quality Manager should have a proven track record in automotive quality

Responsibilities of the Quality Manager:

*Manage, support, train and motivate the quality team including objective setting and performance appraisals.
*Develop all Quality staff capabilities via robust development and training plans.
*Establish and build excellent customer and external service provider working relationships.
*To ensure all customer concerns
*Manage Customer expectations using agreed tools, i.e. PPS, 8D, or specific customer methodology as appropriate.
*Lead plant quality function from New Product conception through to Warranty analysis engendering a culture of proactive, continuous improvement to ensure robust procedures, processes and gateways are in place to drive down non-conformances.
*Customer visits and external audits
*Champion, support or lead multi-disciplined quality improvement initiatives
*Collect and analyse customer performance data and implement improvement plans when required.
*Compilation of weekly and monthly Quality management reports.

Qualifications/Experience of the Quality Manager:

*Quality Management experience of Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive environment
*Quality professional, with significant experience in process-based integrated management systems and business improvement in an engineering / manufacturing environment, preferably plastic injection moulding and assembly.
*Highly self-motivated and demonstrates a determination and persistence to deliver results despite obstacles and setbacks, proactive and ambitious.
*Solid understanding and experience of implementing and maintaining ISO9001 & IATF 16949.
*Proven quality leadership experience.
*Experience of automotive NPI documentation (PPAP, APQP, etc).
*Significant experience in application of 8D problem solving methodologies.
*Experience in Lean / Six Sigma techniques and proven use of statistics and data analysis techniques.
*Proven people management skills and team building experience.
*Experience in effecting change from a reactive quality approach to a pro-active approach
