Job description

A member of the Project Management/Strategic Consultancy Team in Sheffield office you will be either the lead client contact or support a team leader providing an agreed service to a buildings and infrastructure construction customer. You will be external facing providing technical and project management advice with business development responsibilities.

You will be capable of leading a technical team and acting as the key client interface to project sponsors, clients and key stakeholders.

You will also be expected to have sufficient practical engineering and project management knowledge to perform higher value consulting roles. Knowledge of the UK procurement regulations would be an advantage.

Candidate specification

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have:

-attained Chartered membership of a recognised industry institution (either in engineering, architecture or RICS) or be working towards it.
-significant project management experience within the construction industry
-experience of working on schemes through all stages of the project lifecycle from feasibility through to procurement and into the construction and operational phases.
-excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-experience of working on frameworks or similar public authority environment.
-experience working independently in a technical or construction related role.
-experience of building and construction projects.
-experience of developing strong internal and external relationships.
-good time management and monitoring and evaluation skills.
-strong project and programme planning skills.
-delivered projects within an integrated quality, safety and environmental management system.
-the ability to lead teams and mentor junior staff.
-the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities.
-the ability to prepare and present proposals to existing and new clients.
-knowledge of project programming and scheduling software (eg MS Project)
