**Job purpose** :

To effectively manage the performance of a team or project with focus on providing technical and scientific support to the wider Analytical Services Group.

**Key responsibilities and accountabilities:**

* Responsible for monitoring assay performance within Analytical Services Group (ASG).
* Line management or supervision of scientists within the ASG.
* Lead analytical OOS/OOE/OOT investigations as required.
* Plan, execute and oversee assay troubleshooting investigations.
* Writing and reviewing technical documents including, but not limited to, investigations, analytical studies, deviations and SOPs.
* Responsible for transfer of analytical assays from Analytical Development Group (ADG) to ASG.
* Work with Analytical Development to identify and implement analytical assay improvements and efficiencies.
* Technical subject matter expert (SME) for Client projects, during Client audits and regulatory inspections.
* Providing costings and estimated timelines for new projects.
* In addition you are required to carry out such other tasks as are required from time to time for the efficient running of the Company's business. You are to carry out such additional work upon request from your line manager or Director of the Company.

**Key skills and requirements:**

* Subject matter expert in one or more of the following areas: qPCR or ELISA
* Ability to work well within a team environment; supervisory or line management experience would be advantageous
* Ability to work within GMP regulations and maintain compliance; previous experience of working within a GMP environment
* Attention to detail with excellent writing skills
* Ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure
* Good organisational and time management skills

**Person Specification:**

Educated to at least BSc level with relevant experience, preferably including experience within a GMP environment
