Engineering Project Manager
Our client is a large chemical manufacturing company with a number of plants globally. They have a top tier COMAH chemical manufacturing facility in the North Lincolnshire area and are looking to bring in a Engineering Project Manager on a permanent basis.
About the Role
In this role you will be responsible for the management of nominated capital projects to budget and schedule, ensuring that the business case is appropriate, the engineering solution is fit for purpose and that construction safety and quality assurance is appropriately defined and controlled.
You will be responsible for following the company Capital Project Management Process, complying with Site Standards and Project Engineering Instructions and adopting good project management practices.
You will manage the design office function of the Projects Department ensuring the right level and specialism of resource is made available via internal and external sources, to execute both the site’s capital plan and factory ‘Work Order’ design requests. This includes the prioritising and scheduling of work to each designer ensuring that deadlines are met, professional standards are maintained and design codes and standards are adhered to.
You will be responsible for administrative support and engineering liaison with the budget holders for the site Work Order (PS1) system so that the work can be demonstrated as meeting the design intent/brief and due dates and budgets can be agreed.
The role holder acts as a CDM Principal Designer on projects being individually managed as described under the Construction (Design & Management) regulations 2015.
Candidates considered for this role will have the following skills and experience:
Hold an honours Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
Will be chartered in a relevant engineering discipline (or, as a minimum, be in a position to apply for Chartership within the first 12 months of taking up the role).
NEBOSH Construction Certificate (preferred)
Level and Type of Knowledge, Experience & Skills Required:
Demonstrable experience of relevant engineering and project management experience within a chemical manufacturing or heavy industrial environment, with experience on a Top Tier COMAH site.
Proven experience of leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams, within a chemical manufacturing facility
Effective communications skills with the ability to talk to people at all levels of the organisation; with demonstrable experience of impacting and influencing.
Ability to identify, analyse and propose solutions to engineering and administrative problems in a positive manner
Working knowledge of SAP
Legislative knowledge relating to the application of the CDM Regs 2015
Ability to manage budgets to meet project objectives
