My client is an independent international investment advisory firm looking for an investment analyst to support investment activities for their growing client base of institutions, family offices and HNW individuals. You would be working closely with private clients, endowments and foundations to provide investment advice on asset allocation and access best of breed asset managers.
As an associate you would be actively involved in asset manager evaluation and performance monitoring and are expected to be up to speed on all asset classes. The job involves quantitative analysis of performance, and qualitative assessment including meeting and evaluating asset managers. Associates are expected to keep client balance sheets up to date, prepare analysis and recommendations relating to client portfolio asset allocation, portfolio performance and currency exposure and to be able to prepare powerpoint presentations for meetings.
The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years’ related work experience. The role requires a high degree of numeracy, strong excel modelling skills and the ability to understand often highly complicated investment strategies. Candidates will be expected to have advanced excel and powerpoint skills, the ability to produce zero defect work within tight deadlines and to have advanced time management skills. They will have proven strong quantitative and analytical skills and be able to demonstrate an active interest in investments and capital markets. A flexible entrepreneurial approach, an appetite for challenge and a ‘team player’ attitude are essential. Candidates would need to hold an MBA or Masters in finance or a related subject, and have a 2:1 or 1:1 class degree from a top tier university preferably in a highly numerate subject for example maths or physics.
