We are looking to build upon our success by appointing a new IP telephony Project Engineer based in London. This will be an involved and challenging role with significant opportunity for skills development and career progression.

Duties and Responsibilities

The primary focus of the role is to deliver support services to clients in the most effective and efficient manner, occasional implementation support may also be required as necessary. We have clients with sites globally and support is provided around the clock via an on-call rota which you will be expected to join.

The engineer will require an in-depth knowledge of the Avaya IP Office platform to help support customers who have IP500 and Server Edition solutions. We also have our own voice, data and cloud platforms which exposure to will be essential to assist with troubleshooting issues with customers who have multiple products with us.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting and supporting Avaya IP Office software
  • Installation of Avaya hardware and software remotely and on customer’s sites
  • Providing advice, technical guidance and training for customers and peers
  • Management of customer communications via telephone calls and CRM system
  • Completing customer PBX changes
  • Completing maintenance tasks on supported PBXs
  • Liaising with voice network engineers and using voice network tools to diagnose multi-service customer faults

Essential skills:

  • 3 years+ experience installing and supporting Avaya IP Office IP500 and Server Edition Solutions
  • Avaya AIPS or ACIS and preferably ACSS
  • Ability to implement and support IP Office One-X Portal, Voicemail Pro, Contact Store
  • A working knowledge of SIP trunks and SIP service providers
  • Knowledge of IP Networking, VoIP, switches, routers and Internet technology
  • Networking skills including TCP/IP, Switching, VLAN’s, and general firewall knowledge
  • Good working knowledge of working with MS 2008/2012 Server
  • Excellent fault finding and resolution skills
  • Familiarity with techniques for remote support including: TeamViewer, VNC, Remote Desktop and VPN working
  • Clear communications ability and strong inter-personal skills in order to demonstrate verbally, via documentation and diagrams
  • Ability to organise and dynamically prioritise a busy workload
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams
  • Good organizational skills with excellent time keeping
  • Professional, positive and decisive in approach
  • Desire to learn and improve through self-learning, in house training and manufacturer led training courses

Desirable & Advantageous Skills:

  • CCNA/CCNP would be desirable
  • Knowledge of virtualisation platforms VMware or hyper V
  • Knowledge of Xima Chronicall, Oak ReportX, Oak Record
  • Avaya IPOCC/ACCS Call centre products
  • Avaya ASBCE Products
  • Avaya ERS Networking products
  • Avaya Scopia Video Products

In Addition:

Willingness to work flexibly including out-of-hours, weekends and over-night stays around the country and on occasions abroad. Part of an on-call rota to deliver 24 hour support.
