Spring Technology's client, a public sector organisation, are currently looking to recruit a Digital Communications Officer for an initial 12 month contract on a rate of c.£300-350/day (inside of IR35) based in Glasgow.

The Role:

This role leads the Digital team, which is made up of this Manager role and support of a Digital Officer. The Digital team provides a comprehensive online service, including website management, social media, content optimisation and web analytics.


* Manage the organisation's website, including the external hosting and contractors.
* Maximise the use of digital channels; generate strategic and high quality forward plans of communications, support the development of engaging digital and social media content, evaluate impact and implement improvements.
* Work with the whole communications team to support the implementation of digital and social media communications outputs on the organisation's proactive communications work.
* Work with the whole communications team and policy leads to develop a continuous digital monitoring strategy, help safeguard corporate reputation and support forward planning for social media around key events and announcements.
* Manage social media/digital accounts and administer security and policies.
* Manage the development and dissemination of standards and guidelines for the development and publication of online content.
* Take advantage of latest technologies to incorporate these into tools allowing Business Areas to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
* Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key clients and stakeholders.


* Experience in online content review, audit, maintenance, archiving and quality assurance processes.
* Experience of advising others on digital communications channel selection, accessibility, usability, and propriety issues in relation to digital best practice.
* Proven track record in developing and publishing engaging digital content using a user-centred design approach.
* Proficiency in HTML, CSS and Content Management Systems.
* Experience in initiating, implementing, managing and evaluating social media campaigns.
* Significant experience in terms of planning and producing content based on user needs.
* Line Management experience, including contract management.
