Technical Support Manager - South
We are looking for an experienced and motivated candidate to work in a busy Technical Department as Technical Support.
The role is wide ranging, and includes training and guiding Approved Contractors and Distributors in the use of roofing systems and products, as well as providing technical quotations and information to them.
Our client also provides information to both professionals in the industry such as Architects, Project Managers and Specifiers, and building owners to promote the use of their systems.
What does the role involve?
Reporting to the National Technical Manager. Our clients head office is based in North London, in this position you must be commutable certain duties will be carried out from this base. The role will also include time spent in the field. This will involve visits nationally to carry out training and support roles. As Technical Support, you will give technical assistance and advice for their range of single ply and liquid waterproofing solutions, and be a point of contact for our approved contractors and distributors.
Working alongside the sales team, you will also help to ensure that roofing inquiries are converted into sales, by providing the expertise to reassure the client that choosing their products and its systems is the right choice to ensure quality service and products from specification through to installation.
You'll be expected to carry out live product demonstrations, conduct training for their Approved Contractor's and for their Distributor network's customers, process warranty applications and undertake a varied range of tasks.
To be successful in this role you will ideally have knowledge of the standards and regulations within the roofing industry, however this can be taught. You'll be able to engage with all members of the design and construction team have excellent communication and influencing skills. You'll possess basic computer literacy (Word / Excel) with the ability to produce reports following site inspections etc. You'll have the ability to understand technical drawings and calculate material requirements from them. You'll have confident communication skills with a varied range of people, and possess the ability to adapt and learn new skills. Some knowledge of AutoCAD would be beneficial, but not a requirement.
