Senior Data Warehouse Developer
Harvey Nash's exclusive client is going through a very exciting period of growth and are looking to bring on board a Senior Data Warehouse Developer on a permanent basis based out of their city centre location in Glasgow, to help deliver a number of key projects that will be replacing older systems, as they look to streamline a number of key areas of the business. The role: You will play a key role within some of the their key projects, gaining an understanding of the business processes and requirements in order to subsequently produce technical specifications, develop software and undertaking testing in line with the defined project plan. Taking on a lead role within the Enterprise Data Warehouse team, you will be responsible for delivering the migration of a new system. Working closely with stakeholders and utilising some of your project management skills to help successfully deliver in the key role. The goal is to look at ways to improve the services on how all the BI and MI is used for reporting. Demonstrating strong analytical, software design and development skills in utilising a number of core toolsets including, but not limited to, ETL development environments such as Oracle ODI, reporting and visualisation tools like SAP BO, OBIEE, Qlikview. Oracle 10g and above, SQL and PL/SQL. About you: You will be currently working as a Data Warehouse BI Developer who will ideally be at a degree level with a computer science or similar discipline. We are seeking individuals with robust data analysis and technical expertise coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills. You should have a proven track record in leading a team in development of full systems lifecycle development, resulting in the successful delivery of bespoke management information systems using Oracle RDBMS technologies 10g onwards. You will have skills in SQL & PL/SQL with a knowledge of forms development in Oracle Apex preferably; ETL development environments such as Oracle ODI or similar; Data reporting and visualisation tools such as SAP BO, OBIEE, Qlikview or a similar data presentation and visualisation toolkit. Technical Skills Stakeholder management skills Project Management and leading technical projects Ability to mentor and take lead with more junior team members. 2 of the following languages/toolsets: SQL, PLSQL, Oracle Data Integrator, Qlikview, SAP BO or similar. With a personal track record of participation in successful implementation of bespoke business software solutions Experience of data warehousing design principles and dimensional modelling in particular Kimball methodology. Proven software development team experience documenting software solutions in JIRA , Confluence, SQL Developer Data Modeller or similar software team management & design toolsets. Previous commercial exposure to working with Higher Education would be a massive advantage.
