We are currently recruiting for a Senior Corporate Auditor for our client - a highly regarded, leading housing association based in the Merseyside area. Operating in an autonomous role you will be responsible for supporting the business by managing internal audit assignments under the direction of the Director of Internal Audit & Risk and the Internal Audit Manager. Responsibilities will include:

- Maintaining an overview of developments in the business having an impact on internal control
- Carrying out the initial planning for audit assignments such as data analysis & meeting with local management to agree the scope of the audit
- Representing Internal Audit on project and other groups and supervise ad-hoc projects which contribute to the objectives of those groups
- Attending Audit Committees and Boards and present audit findings as required
- Under direction, managing reviews of the management, operational and financial systems throughout the Group
- Agreeing deadlines and time budgets for audits and effectively working to these
- Carrying out detailed audit testing on more complex areas
- Preparing draft reports for review by the Director of Internal Audit & Risk and Internal Audit Manager
- Agreeing recommendations and management actions with the business
- Setting annual performance targets for staff and taking responsibility for the delivery of assigned audits
- Supervising and reviewing the work carried out by junior staff including providing training and delivering feedback when necessary
- Deputising for other managers when necessary

Applicants will be fully IIA Qualified or ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA Qualified. Applicants will be required to have sound technical knowledge of internal audit techniques and principles and strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail. Strong MS Excel skills will be required also. You will be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and work at all levels within the business.
