Finance and Operations Manager

We are currently looking for an experienced Finance and Operations Manager (21 - 28hrs per week) who will take the lead on all finance and operations work for Avert – a small but ambitious charity working on HIV and sexual health.
Avert has been at the forefront of the HIV response since 1986. By sharing knowledge, we empower people to protect themselves and others from infection, reduce stigma and improve HIV programmes globally. Our impartial information reaches thousands of people across the world every day and our partnership work helps to change the lives of those most in need in sub-Saharan Africa. Our information and education site, Avert.org, is the only global HIV and AIDS resource of its kind, reaching millions of people in more than 180 countries each year.
You will have an excellent eye for financial detail and a flexible approach to managing the fluctuating financial management and reporting needs of a small charity which is currently working on growing its income. You will support the development of the charity’s annual budget and income forecasting and tracking. You will be responsible for all financial management including payments and reconciliation and quarterly / annual financial reporting. As we move into year two of our current four-year strategy “Investing for impact” you will work closely with the Head of Programme Funding and the CEO to make our current financial model work better for Avert and ensure our long term financial sustainability. You will lead on ensuring we have the right systems and processes in place to manage our operational needs efficiently and support the HR administration needs for a staff team of 10 people.

- Salary: £35,000 - £39,000 Pro-rata (depending on skills and experience).
