One of the leading Healthcare Providers is currently seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join their Specialist Neuro-behavioural Service located in Colchester.
The service is specialist neuro-rehabilitation service for treating and discharging people with complex neurological needs following a traumatic or acquired brain injury.

The salary for this position is £125,000 pro rata which includes great additional benefits.

As the Consultant Psychiatrist, your main duties will be to:

• Take clinical responsibility for patients; trans-disciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews including observation reviews and contributing to team based risk assessments and risk management, strategic reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieu.
• Supervise the process of referral and admission including contributing to preadmission assessments of patients with team members
• Offer a psychiatric perspective to the trans-disciplinary team in relation to assessments, formulations and treatments of the service users
• Contribute to management meetings and clinical governance meetings for the services provided at the hospital
• Contribute to in-house training programmes within the service and offer supervision to other members of the multi-disciplinary team
• Maintain CPD and re-validation requirements
• Lead on legal framework management within the site which includes Mental Capacity Act and leading on Best Interest meetings where required
• Consult with patients/families/external professionals/commissioners
• Prescribe and monitor medication
• Contribute to the development and evaluate the service in collaboration with the Lead Consultant, Hospital Director and Clinical Service Manager
• Ensure the service and support provided, offers good value for money and supports the overall aim of the service

To be considered for this role you will need the following:

• Hold a CCST / CCT (or equivalent) in the relevant areas of Psychiatry
• Experience of working in inpatient settings with people with an acquired brain injury
• Hold a registration with the GMC including the relevant Specialist Register
• Be able to work autonomously to agreed short and medium term objectives
• Have acquired systemic knowledge and experience where some adaptive and creative thinking is occasionally required
• Be a good team player and be keen to participate in a multidisciplinary approach to assessment, formulation and management plans

To be considered for this role you must hold a CCST/CCT or equivalent in the relevant areas of psychiatry and hold a GMC registration
