Financial Accountant; Location: Filton; Duration: 12 months; Rate: Day rate on application.
We are looking to recruit a Financial accountant to cover a 12-month contract based in Filton.
Responsibility for financial accounting and reporting to Group and Divisional requirements. Deputise for the Strategic Planning and Reporting Manager as required. Responsible for management accounting for the technology cost centres.
Reporting in accordance with Divisional and Group requirements and deadlines re:
financial performance and forecasts(Hyperion) - VAT - Corporation tax
Intrastat reporting, ensuring consistency with VAT reporting.
Oversee SAP GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) process adherence ensuring monthly
reporting of results and escalation / remedy of instances of non-compliance.
Management of existing capital investments including capitalisation of assets, disposals, monthly
depreciation runs and accruals and monitoring of spend for assets under construction (involving
liaising with Estates and Services to ensure processes and procedures documentation is in place).
Rolling three-year fixed asset tagging project, involving Estates and Services to ensure the new assets are appropriately 'tagged' when they arrive on site.
Production of detailed management accounts and monthly variance analysis models for Technology cost centre.
Providing ad hoc financial assistance to the Technology department where required.
Modifications analysis and liaison with relevant areas to ensure adherence with accounting principles.
Ensuring production hours are booked to MOD codes and monitoring actual sales and costs against forecasts.
Qualifications and Skills - Formal Qualifications
Essential: Graduate with professional UK accounting qualification (preferably ICAEW)
Specific Functional Capability, Knowledge and Skills Required

Strong knowledge of IFRS & Financial Reporting - Good understanding of financial controls and processes -
Self-starter with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines - Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications
Desirable: - Experience of working within the manufacturing sector -
Use of SAP - Use of Hyperion -
Export Control understanding and regulatory requirements
