About the Team:

The Innovation team develops and coordinates the execution of core consumer propositions for O2. As such, we are required to be expert marketers, diverse thinkers and pragmatic solution finders. Our people need to mix curiosity, creativity and courage with commercial nous and the ability to make strong connections both across the business and externally.

Your Role:

Your role as Innovation Lead is a critical one in the design/build of O2s core customer propositions.

In addition to leading the team to drive innovation, you will:
-Oversee the overall ideation programme
-The Innovation design process managing the other leads to enable clear guidelines & `gates` process for the team.
Within the above process, enable pre-decision gate Initiative reviews - to help build stronger, more thoroughly thought-through initiatives.


You`ll be developing Innovation in line with our 3 year plan - leading the overall ideation programme. Designing & implementing the Innovation design process managing the other leads to enable clear guidelines & `gates` process for the team.

Obtaining agreement for plans from governance boards (ComCom / OpCom). Leading implementation of those plans from technical build through to go-to-market.

Oversee implementation of new Demand & Regulatory lead role, to ensure expertise & know-how flows through to the new team. Have oversight through design process of Demand Initiative Masterplan and Innovation Masterplan ensuring efficiencies throughout.

Skills & experience:

Calm under pressure, has the ability to act decisively even in cases of significant uncertainty, happy presenting at Board (OpCom/ExCom) level as well as to store and customer service advisors, and ultimately someone who has an unwavering passion for customers.

This person needs to be a self-starter, to bring in expertise from outside, integrate and bring in the multiple strands of work from internal stakeholders and bring into the Core Innovation masterplan as appropriate. This is a very high profile position with considerable revenue following directly from decisions made.

Innovative thinking and understanding of end-to-end proposition development (people, processes, systems)

Delivery of sound, well thought through changes within a complex business and matrix structure driving significant change in customer behaviour

Confidence to keep pushing ideas through at a senior level communicating barriers and solutions with `white coat` approach. Creative thinker, but also capable of grounding strategies into reality and making them "deliverable" Experience of being able to balance commercial needs with what customers want and spotting opportunities to increase revenue growth

First rate communication/negotiation/relationship-building skills

Team orientation and stake holder management skills to lead large cross-functional teams across the wider business in addition to obtaining buy-in to, and delivery against, strategic plans.

Understanding yield management, price elasticity and its principles. Excellent commercial experience, with the ability to interpret and act on complex sets of financial/statistical data

Ability to cope in a pressurised environment, due to the significant budget responsibility

Education to degree level in a relevant subject, or equivalent, coupled with proven consumer marketing experience.
