We are seeking an experienced project manager with strong experience delivering complex infrastructure projects involving operational technology - such as changes to broadcasting frequencies, physical antenna, masts etc - ideally in with a broadcasting or telco background.

We are seeking an authoritative, enthusiastic project manager to be responsible for managing the successful delivery of the infrastructure elements of this a programme to manage the delivery of the infrastructure and viewer support changes required the regulator and broadcaster to clear the UK's TV airwaves between now and 2020 for release for mobile broadband use.

Working closely with the infrastructure provider, multiplex operators and the regulator you will be required to manage the provider’s delivery of detailed design and build plans and technical implementation plans, working closely with the telecommunications regulator on spectrum frequency allocations and international frequency coordination progress, and working closely with customer support teams on viewer impacting technical work.

The ideal candidate will come from a background delivering operational infrastructure changes within broadcasting or telecommunications relating to frequency changes, antenna and mast deployment and delivery. Working with a wide range of stakeholders to manage physical OT delivery and implementation


* Responsible for managing the planning and delivery of all technical elements of the programme, leading project management of infrastructure design and build progress, engineering implementation, rollout plans and planned engineering works schedules.
* Responsible for leading the coordination of a detailed programme of infrastructure funding requests into the regulator, managing the chain of delivery from scheduling, production, quality assessment, review, approval, submission, managing regulator queries and approvals.
* With the support of the Programme Manager and PMO, responsible for tracking and communicating the status of the infrastructure project, including grant funding process, to all key stakeholders, including translating complex technical data for a varied audience and producing concise, targeted project reports.
* Manage the coordination of a regular Technical Delivery stakeholder group, including planning agendas, helping to drive required decisions and managing meeting outputs and actions.
Responsible for managing key technical delivery risks and issues, and seeing them through to resolution.
* Managing the implementation of a process of 'continuous improvement' change recommendations.

Skills and experience required;

* A minimum of 5 years' project management experience, working in complex technical/engineering environments to senior level stakeholders.
* Good experience delivering operational technology within broadcasting or telecoms.
* Ability to dissect detailed technical input and translate relevant information for varied audiences.
* Ability to grip complex issues, interrogate and manage through to completion.
* Ability to build effective relationships and quickly develop rapport.
* Strong verbal, presentation and written skills, with excellent attention to detail.
*A strong teamwork ethic.
* A good working knowledge of PCs and business software applications including Microsoft Office.


* PRINCE 2 certified and knowledge of Agile desirable.
* Any interest in and knowledge of broadcasting and the TV sector.
* Any knowledge of spectrum frequency allocations and international frequency coordination – highly desirable
