Sales Engineer – Edge Protection Systems

Job Title: Regional Sales Engineer – Edge Protection Systems

Industry Sector: Structural Steel, Steel Fabrication, Steel Fabricator, Steel Framing, Edge Protection, Non Mechanical Plant Equipment, Concrete, Main Contractors, Sub Contractors

Area to be covered: South Ideally based: London & Home Counties

Remuneration: Circa £40,000 basic (neg) plus £5,000 bonus (paid quarterly)

The role of the Regional Sales Engineer –Edge Protection Systems will involve:

·Selling the hire of a manufactured range of edge protection systems such as structural steel and timber frames, free standing barriers, lift protection, edge protection barriers etc

·All of your time will be spend selling into main contractors, engineers, estimators, quantity surveyors, specialist sub contractors and steel fabricators

·Working closely with internal sales support and sales manager

·All of your time working in the commercial and residential market sectors

·75% of your time will be spent managing and expanding existing relationships

·Remaining 25% of your time will be spent generating new business relationships

·Average order values range from £10,000 to £250,000

·Edge protection systems can be on hire from 8 weeks (minimum) to over a 1 year

·Covering a territory which incorporate the whole of the Southern region including the South West with focus of London & Home Counties

The ideal applicant will be Regional Sales Engineer – Edge Protection Systems with:

·Must have a construction field sales experience selling a technical product, ideally steel related

·Must be able to read technical drawings and work with engineers to provide a solution

·Consultative, solution sales environment, not a hard sell

·Would consider experience of working for a steel fabricator, moving into first field sales role

·Ideally have experience in selling to specialist cub contractors such as: concrete and steel frame contractors and main contractors

·Capable of managing and expanding existing relationships and generating new business

·Organised, have good time management skills and to be self-motivated to perform and reach targets
