My client, which owns the UK's leading trade exhibition and industry associations, is at the next stage of its future development and is creating a strategic vision to enhance service delivery to its members. The association is well established and highly regarded. It serves nearly 500 member companies, which are predominantly based in the UK. The goals of the association are to improve the business performance of its member companies via an array of activities including; trade shows, publications, advertising, promotion, international services and training seminars.

The organisation is at an exciting stage of mapping out its future strategy and programs, and hence a need exists for a Marketing Executive to contribute and assist in this activity.

Summary of Position:

This is a permanent position reporting to the Marketing Manager. The successful candidate will be capable of taking marketing activity and working with a team to the next level. This is as much a hands on role as it is creatively. The ability to quickly understand our specific market place will be encouraged by support from experienced association staff. This position requires a high level of IT ability. The use of software packages & CRM systems in creating marketing campaigns, database handling and the maintenance and creation of web pages is a significant part of this role.

Working with the Marketing Manager this role will have an influence across all departments within the association including trade shows, publishing, training seminars, membership, communications and website.

My clients show is a major part of the organisations activity, and as such, significant time and effort will need to be directed towards this event. Experience of marketing B2B exhibitions would be useful.

Equally important is the ability to integrate into our close-knit team of professionals, as well as building strong relations with our members and other external bodies.

Key Responsibilities:


* Deliver targeted campaigns to increase quantity and quality of visitors to the exhibition with focus on Digital Marketing
* Contribute to data analysis to identify core audiences
* Working with sales department to create sales supporting literature and collaterals
* Liaison with PR agency to ensure regular market coverage
* Assisting in negotiating contracts with external suppliers
* Creating electronic email campaigns tailored to target audiences
* Minor alteration of print advert content and copywriting
* Management of my clients show website through CMS with support from website vendor.
* Liaison with the visitor registration provider to set up online system and e-comms strategy
* Ensure all promotional campaign online/offline are delivered on time and to budget
* Look after customisation of feature areas at the show such as the press office & VIP lounges during the on-site build-up of the exhibition
* Post show survey and analysis
* Monitor, update activities in line with the marketing communications calendar
* Manage my clients TV and photographers at the show


* Contribute to the creation and programme of our Awards dinner
* Gathering sponsorships
* Marketing promotion to event sponsors, awards entrants and attendees
* Creation of seating plan in collaboration with Head of Admin
* Liaising with judges, VIP guests and production team
* Creation of awards PR
* Contribution to scripting on the night
* Liaising with production company and other partners on the night

My clients Business

* Preparation of monthly e-bulletin including collation from other departments
* Assisting projects with content for members' days
* Running the company's social media output
* Contribute to the creation of marketing collaterals to support other departments
* Coordinate and plan marketing activities to maximise departments' goals
* Brief & liaise with external designers and other suppliers as required
* Support and assist the marketing manager as and when required

Key Skills & Experience Required:

* Experience of latest methods in delivering marketing communications via web, social media, digital media etc.
* In-depth understanding of digital marketing: PPC, SEO, Social and Web

* Good knowledge of Google Analytics and AdWords

* Experience of creating digital campaigns (support from Senior Marketing Exec)
* The candidate will be expected to clearly demonstrate examples of experience or training in the skills described above to be considered for the position.
* Good communications skills
* A clear and logical thinker willing to contribute to preparing plans and budgets
* You are likely to be A level educated with appropriate marketing or event qualifications
