The Consultancy Group are currently engaged on a search for a high profile commercial CFO for a rapidly growing PE backed investments and consumer lending business. This role will play a critical and influential role as a partner to the CEO and members of the executive team as the business embarks on the next stage of its growth.

Taking full responsibility for the financial management of the business including strategic, operational and commercial issues, the successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining regular and effective communication with existing and potential investors.

The Role

The successful applicant will act as peer level strategic partner to the CEO in formulating business strategy together with other members of the management team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a finance function of circa 20-30
  • Recommend potential business acquisition proposals and assists the organisation to make intelligent business and financial related decisions
  • Review the financial data and information, update it, to identify inconsistencies and take remedial actions and to provide assistance to direct the operation of financial activities
  • Analysing financial performance and so contributing to medium and long-term business planning / forecasts
  • Negotiating on major projects, loans and grants
  • Offering professional judgement on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance
  • Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers
  • Liaising with other function managers to put the finances and accounts in context
  • Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed
  • Implementing corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls
  • Oversee forecasting and planning process
  • Co-ordinate and prepare statutory accounts for the Company and its subsidiaries, including the co-ordination of the annual audit
  • Oversee treasury policies and procedures
  • Develop business cases for new initiatives
  • Informing key strategic decisions and formulating business strategies
  • Advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions
  • Manage the day to day accounting activities by ensuring adherence to the organisational rules and regulations and statutory compliance

Key Requirements

  • ACA / ACCA / CPA Qualified Accountant or equivalent and FCA accredited
  • Hold a degree from a reputable university and ideally a post graduate qualification (MSc, MBA)
  • At least 5 years of experience as CFO / Finance Director within a Financial Services organisation
  • Previous experience of working in a high growth FS or FinTech business
  • M&A experience including exit planning
  • Team player able to forge strong working relationships across the company
  • Previous fundraising experience, either PE/VC/HNW
  • High energy and drive with excellent presentation skills
