Ecological systems, clearly fundamental to the natural environment, are increasingly recognised for their social, health and economic benefits, but remain under threat from human activities. The plight of the marine environment is coming into increasingly sharp focus, partly through our efforts; in this context we are keen to engage a marine ecologist to bolster our team in Cambridge. This position can be offered on either a full-time or a part-time basis.

You will be part a large team of ecologists and other environmental staff, working across a wide range of projects and sectors (including power, transport, oil & gas and maritime), ensuring that ecological objectives for projects are delivered successfully, within budget and to programme.

If you thrive a fast-moving, client-focused commercial environment then there is excellent scope for career development as the business continues to grow, both in the UK or abroad.

Candidate profile:

* Degree in marine biology, or directly related subject (minimum of 2.1 classification)
* Full, clean driving licence; willing to travel to undertake fieldwork in the UK and internationally
* Excellent report-writing skills and attention to detail

* Experience in planning, assisting and delivering coastal field-based marine surveys to fulfil project requirements related to EIA, HRA etc.
* Experience in preparing and writing ecological sections of EIAs, ensuring that legislative guidelines are met
* Knowledge of wildlife legislation, including planning process and EIAs
