Job DescriptionJunior Research Engineer - Medical Data Analysis: A Junior Research Engineer is required to develop and test novel mathematical algorithms for analysis of time-series medical data related to vital signs and continuous waveforms (such as ECG). Ideal applicants are graduates or equivalent in signal processing and / or probabilistic modelling techniques for numerical data.

The Junior Research Engineer will join an agile small team in the development group at the global leader in intelligent indication and alert systems for the medical sector. The Company's systems identify critical instability in patients that is not picked up by traditional methods. They help reduce the number of unexpected and avoidable deaths through simplification, risk identification and prevention.

Responsibilities:
*Develop and test novel mathematical algorithms for analysis of time-series medical data, related to vital signs and continuous waveforms (such as ECG).
*Analysis of "big data" - collected from hospital monitoring systems
*Application of probabilistic models, machine learning and neural networks.

Skills & Experience:
*Graduate or equivalent in signal processing and / or probabilistic modelling techniques for numerical data
*Probabilistic modelling techniques (Gaussian mixtures modelling / Hidden Markov Models / Kalman filtering).
*Data visualisation techniques for high dimensional data (e.g. Principal Components Analysis / Sammon Mapping).
*Implementation of prototype algorithms in Python / NumPy / SciPy
*Good writing skills in English.
*Good communication/presentation skills.

Desirable:
*Programming knowledge in MATLAB / C# / Java
*Signal processing in the time domain.
