JOB TITLE: Database Administration Assistant - part time

SALARY & BENEFITS: £7,400.25 annual salary plus optional pension

WORKING HOURS:  The post works a 17.25hr, 2.5 day week with a flex time scheme

THE COMPANY & ROLE:  Our Client, a national charity based in Yeadon, West Yorkshire, is looking to recruit someone to work within an existing team on a part time basis. You will assist in the daily processing of information onto our supporters database and general office and clerical duties. We are looking for someone to work the second part of the week, Wednesday afternoon to Friday.

Previous experience of using membership databases would be preferred, with experience of using a word processing package being essential. You must have good verbal communications with an understanding of good customer care and be able to talk to people in a sensitive manner.

 

Key Responsibilities:- Database Administration Assistant - part time - Leeds, West Yorkshire

Processing data for membership, donor, client and other records by:

 
  • Inputting new data
  • Carrying out file enquiries
  • Amending existing records
  • Posting payments, by direct debit, standing order, cash or cheque
  • Scanning gift aid declarations.
 

Dealing with the public in a professional manner by:

 
  • Handling telephone enquiries in an efficient and friendly manner
  • Handling written communication in an accurate and tidy manner
  • Providing an excellent level of cover for the Switchboard Operator/Receptionist.
  • Consistently upholding the standards of the Association by both word and example.
 

General office/administration duties including:

 
  • Assisting with processing incoming and outgoing post
  • Assisting with general office and clerical duties such as filing, scanning and photocopying
  • Undertaking any other duties reasonably required which fall within the scope and responsibility of the post.
  • Assisting colleagues with their workload when required

Key skills and experience essential:- Database Administration Assistant - part time - Leeds, West Yorkshire

Essential
  • Educated to at least GCSE level Grade C or equivalent in mathematics and English language
  • Computer literate which includes previous experience of using a Word Processing package
  • Previous experience of using windows based spreadsheet package, preferably Microsoft Excel.
  • Previous experience of using databases for data entry.
  • Previous experience of general office and clerical duties
  • Good verbal communication skills including a good telephone manner.
  • Good written communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Accuracy and neatness
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • An understanding of customer care which includes the ability to deal with people in a sensitive manner.
  • Ability to function well under pressure and work to deadlines
  • An understanding of and a commitment to the principles of Equal Opportunities
