IT Artworker Apprentice - £140p/w - Hastings
Working alongside our Designer, you will benefit and learn from their experience and skills and gain experience to perform practical in-house design application on a wide variety of signs across many sectors. Experience of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop or other graphics based software is desirable.
· Providing technical specifications for drawings. · Planning and supplying artwork against supplied brief for project/clients. · Creating Survey packs · Proof reading and quality checking documents. · Some creative design work and graphic elements. · Communicating with clients. · Contributing to the Company Website and its upkeep. ·
Comply with Health & Safety regulations and work within company guidelines and policies.

The I.T. Level 2 NVQ Framework is primarily delivered in the workplace. Should you not possess suitable concession qualifications, you are also required to attend college to undertake Functional Skills Qualifications.
40 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.30 to 5.30 (I hour break a day 2 x 15 mins and 30 mins for lunch)
Training to be Provided:
The apprenticeship is made up of qualifications and learning that will provide apprentices with the skills and knowledge required to become competent in their chosen job role. It includes a balance of content in technical, business and interpersonal areas, designed to ensure apprentices have an appropriate set of IT skills to operate in their specific chosen job role. The technical content includes units for setting up and using IT systems; system and personal security; using internet, email and collaborative software; configuring and using operating systems and mobile devices; using office applications, using multimedia, video, audio and website software and using accounting and project management software. All apprentices build the competences to plan, select and use appropriate IT tools and applications for the task and develop approaches to improve personal effectiveness and business productivity using IT. The mandatory units of the Level 2 Diploma in IT User Skills are: - Improving Productivity Using IT - Understanding the Potential of IT - Developing personal and team effectiveness using IT Candidates will then choose further optional units. The apprenticeship is delivered through the workplace with regular visits from your assessor, and College day release for Functional Skills, if not exempt from these qualifications.
· Experience of Adobe specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign or similar graphics software · Good organisational skills with attention to detail. · Good communication and people skills. · Professional approach to work. · Ability to follow guidance and instructions. · Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work. · Ability to work on own initiative. · Ability to work as part of a team. · Good practical skills.
· A minimum of 2 GCSE’s at grade D or above (or the equivalent) for English and Maths. (if you do not have these you still may be considered however if successful college attendance will be required to pass these subjects to desired level as these are Functional Skills) · As part of the pre-employment check process, proof of qualifications will be required.

There may be an opportunity to become a permanent member of staff on completion of the apprenticeship and continue to work within the company.

The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
The position involves primarily working in a office environment. There may be a need to work additional hours as and when required. The salary for this post will be reviewed after 1 year. Pension is available with the option to opt out.
