You will work within our team based at Head office in Reigate, key activities will include:

providing ICT technical support to the business via the ICT Service Support organization, including successful fault resolution on all local infrastructure.

ensuring service is provided within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

provide advice and guidance on technical issues to Canon staff

maintain and develop the local infrastructure in a structured way in cooperation with European Central ICT Support

maintain the documentation of all local infrastructure components

The apprenticeship will be a Level 3 Infrastructure Technician and will include the following core modules,

· Cisco Certified Network Associate qualification

· Knowledge module - mobile and operating systems

· Install Configure Windows Server

· Knowledge module - coding and logic


This programme will be delivered by our training partner, Crawley College. The apprenticeship will last for 15 months and you will attend the college on a day release basis, one day per week (term time only)

Training to be Provided:

Technical Knowledge and Understanding - Infrastructure Technician Level 3 • Working knowledge of a range of cabling and connectivity, the various types of antennas and wireless systems and IT test equipment • Understands maintenance processes and applies them in working practices • Understands and applies the basic elements and architecture of computer systems • Understands where to apply the relevant numerical skills e.g Binary • Understands he relevant networking skills necessary to maintain a secure network • Understands the similarities, differences and benefits of the current Operating Systems available • Understands how to operate remotely and how to deploy and securely integrate mobile devices • Understanding and working knowledge of Cloud and Cloud Services • Understands the importance of disaster recovery and how a disaster recovery plan works and their role within it • Understands the similarities and differences between a range of coding and logic

Expected Duration:

Minimum 12 months

Skills Required:

Have a “Can Do” attitude, numerate, articulate, well presented with a keen interest in IT with a passion for delivering great customer service.

Qualifications Required:

Maths, English Language and ICT GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent). New grades 4-9.

Personal Qualities:

•Be a self-starter with an enthusiastic attitude •Be able to demonstrate tenacity when faced with difficult situations, people or challenges •Have excellent communication skills and experience in customer service •Be computer literate and able to communicate clearly and concisely in written and verbal form. •Have good data analysis skills •And a desire to succeed

The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
