At Wincanton, we are currently looking for graduates to work in one of our many distribution sites across the UK. If you are looking for your first career role in an exciting and challenging industry then this is definitely the opportunity for you!
Who are Wincanton?
Wincanton is the largest British logistics firm, providing supply chain consultancy and solutions to some of the world’s most admired brands. We employ approximately 17,500 people across more than 200 sites and have a 3,600-strong fleet of vehicles. We work with some of the UK’s best-known companies including ASDA, B&Q, Marks & Spencer, Nestle, Heinz and BAE Systems, to name but a few.
Our vision is to work together to build the most innovative, effective and respected logistics company.
What do we do?
As a trusted and respected business partner, we strive for operational excellence in everything we do. We work hard to understand and respond to our customers’ needs, build long term relationships and use our skills and expertise to deliver a smarter, added value service, every day. We put our customers at the heart of everything we do, and our mission is to ‘make our customers' business better. Every day’.
Our Graduate Programme:
You will be expected to contribute and have an impact from day one fulfilling “actual roles” within our operation, supported by a comprehensive structured training programme and relevant job-related training. Mentored by an experienced manager, you will be supported through any relevant qualifications whilst gaining important on-the-job work experience as well as attending various personal development courses. You will be fully immersed in the workings of the business, interacting with key decision makers whilst at the same time being coached and mentored. In return, we require you to be eager to learn, keen to get ahead, ambitious, confident in challenging the ‘norm’ and be willing to experience different aspects of the business.
This is a brilliant opportunity to join a thriving business and build a career that will enable you to achieve your potential.
What we’re looking for from you?
- As a minimum, we require you to have a 2:1 or above in a relevant graduate qualification or equivalent
- Flexible approach to location
- The desire to take on real responsibility from day one
- The drive and ambition to succeed in an exciting and challenging environment
- A self-starter – who is both curious and enthusiastic
- Innovative and creative (with high attention to detail and strong analytical skills)
- Willingness to challenge the ‘status quo’ and able to present views convincingly in a clear and consistent manner
- Get the bigger picture – and recognise the wider impact of decisions made
- Enthusiasm to learn a broad range of skills and technical logistics capabilities over a short period of time
What you’ll gain?
This is both a challenging and exciting programme in equal measures. Opportunities are available in different parts of the business, giving you invaluable industry experience. You will be offered both on and off the job development opportunities to enable you to deliver a number of projects that will deliver tangible results to both the business and customers - and that will support your ambition to progress.
Benefits for you?
We really value our people and offer a friendly working environment, a focus on developing your skills and a competitive salary. Benefits include a starting salary of £26,000 per annum, 25 days holiday (+8 days bank holiday), access to a company pension scheme with employer contributions and other optional schemes you may wish to join. We also offer a welcome bonus to help you out with relocation. These are just some of the reasons that make Wincanton a great place to work!
If you feel that you have what it takes to support Wincanton in delivering the best service, we would love to hear from you.
The closing date for applications is Sunday 1st April 2018. Assessment centres will take place on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th April 2018 at our site in Staffordshire; please keep the dates free.
