My Client is a large medical device company going through a period of growth, we are recruiting a Market and Technology Researcher to join their Team .

Reporting to the Director of Innovation, the Market and Technology Researcher will deliver market and technology analysis to support innovation projects to ensure a pipeline of product development opportunities for sustainable growth of the Group.

The Role

•Work within the R&D Innovation Team to support project delivery to meet the strategic plans for business growth across the Group.

•Within defined project teams, work across organisational boundaries to provide robust research and analysis to contribute to the successful delivery of innovation projects, the outputs of which will be a business cases for new product concepts that will be presented to the Board for review.

•Project activities to include, but not limited to, gathering market and business intelligence, stakeholder insight, technology scouting, IP landscaping and technology evaluation.

•Design and conduct effective research and analysis to meet the project aims, ensuring it can be achieved within the agreed project resources and within the timescales.

•Work with third party suppliers e.g. consultancies, as required, to provide additional skills, expertise and resource to deliver projects.

•Networking, through attendance at conferences, events and other face to face meetings, to gain vital insights to inform specific projects and more generally for the benefit of the wider group.

•Contribute to the identification of areas of research interest both within projects, and more widely, which may offer opportunity for inclusion in future innovation projects.

The Person

The successful candidate is likely to have worked in a consultancy or client-side in a market, technology or business analysis role, ideally with a front-end innovation focus; above all they must be able to demonstrate experience of conducting and translating research, preferably within multidisciplinary teams, to provide a strong evidence-base for development opportunities.

•A degree in life sciences.

•Minimum of 3 years’ experience of conducting robust primary and secondary market and technology research.

•Strong primary and secondary research skills with the ability to translate into meaningful analysis to extract the ‘so what’.

•Experience of a utilising a range of research approaches, such as, stakeholder research, technology scouting, IP analysis.

•The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

•Initiative, able to work independently and take ownership of results.

•Medical device industry experience.
