Urgently Required Horticulture Lecturer

A further education college in Norfolk are looking to recruit a temporary horticulture lecturer.
The staff member will need to cover the following subjects and have the following timetable:
Monday: 9:00-15:00 – Horticulture level 2 – subjects included plant science, business, commercial gardening
Tuesday: 9:00-16:15 – Horticulture level 2 – subjects include plant science, business, work experience, commercial gardening and a Horticulture level 3 lesson on plant protection
Wednesday: 9:00-13:00 – Level 1 students, being organised, plant health, soil science and a level 3 horticulture lesson on historical gardens
Thursday: 09:00- 11:00 – RHS level 2 theory – Plant growth and propagation
Friday: 9:00-13:00 – Level 2 – practical tasks (we may be able to cover this with internal grounds staff)

We are looking for a staff member with following Essential qualities:
Experience in horticulture / gardening
Good understanding of:
Plant and soil science
Plant health
Plant identification
Experience working with young people from varied backgrounds

Teaching experience
Experience of RHS qualification
Garden design

Teach Education is a local specialist supply teacher agency supplying qualified, experienced teachers and instructors to schools in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Herts and Beds.

We are keen to speak with specialist teachers and instructors who are available to work either at present or in the coming months. Bookings can be for day 2 day, short, long term and permanent positions.

Successful candidates will have the following:
* Qualified Teacher Status or PGCE (QTS not essential within secondary education unless teaching PE)
* Knowledge of the National Curriculum
* A passion for teaching and the ability to inspire students
* Excellent communication skills
* NQTs welcome to apply
