A 5* house builder are currently looking to recruit a Development Engineer. My client have a strong reputation for quality and innovation, and are regarded within the industry as market leaders based on their expertise, quality and commitment to providing the best service to their customers. Due to growth, they are now looking to add another Development Engineer to their team. Whilst house building experience is preferable, my client will also consider candidates from a utilities or consultancy background.
My client is based near Manchester but you will divide your time between the office and site. Depending on your location, they will try to give you sites within commutable distance. My client have 7 live sites across the North West at present with another 3 due to start shortly.
They currently have a solid and experienced team within the technical department; with 2 technical managers, one with an engineering background and the other an architectural background. On the engineering side there is an Engineering Manager and 2 Development Engineers and on the architectural side there is a Design Manager and 2 Architectural Technicians. You would report into the Technical Manager on the engineering side.
If you are looking to work for a reputable house builder who offers flexible hours and great opportunities for progression this could be a great opportunity for you. Standard hours are 8.30am - 5pm but the company can accommodate an earlier start and an earlier finish if necessary. This company also offer a full day off every other Friday if the hours are acquired during the week.
My client are targeting 300 completions this year with planned growth of an additional 50 units each year for the foreseeable. Their 5 year growth plan will open up numerous opportunities for career progression such as Senior Development Engineer and above. This company are also very keen on promoting from within.
The successful candidate should be a qualified Civil Engineer or Civil Engineering Technician with a good understanding of civil engineering techniques/details and the statutory process to achieve a site start and complete developments.
Experience in residential development is preferable however not a pre-requisite. The individual should be well organised and able to make decisions to allow projects to progress. They must be computer literate and ideally fully conversant with Autocad.
