Data Engineer - London - £55,000-£65,000

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a role within an established industry-recognised online marketing platform as a Data Engineer to join our client's UX Team to build data driven solutions for their customer base.

As the Data Engineer you will work under the general guidance of the Lead Data Engineer to quickly and accurately translate concepts and specifications into workable data solutions. You will ensure there is a consistent and clear approach to software development and will be involved in general data platform engineering, maintenance, and bug fixing.

Your role as the Data Engineer will involve working within a team to develop data products and design data integration packages. As the Data Engineer you will be involved in data structure development for transactional systems, data warehouses, and virtual data stores. You will also respond to Jira ticket requests within agreed timeframes.

Key skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, physical science, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years' experience working for a medium or large technology company
  • Strong development skills in any ANSI-SQL variant
  • Ability to develop in java, c++, or other c-type language unaided
  • Hands-on experience in a no-SQL data persistence system (graph, document, OO, …)

Desirable skills:

  • Good understanding of general math concepts
  • Experience working with teams in open collaboration
  • Able to plan individual work aligned within a team
