This opportunity is with a company who are one of the world's leading manufacturers and distributors of machinery protection systems, with over 60 years' experience of keeping equipment safe, productive and reliable in hostile environments.

The successful applicant will be trained in all aspects of MIG/TIG welding and the main day to day tasks may include:

  • Setting out materials to be cut or joined
  • Following engineering instructions / working to drawings
  • Operating spot-welding equipment
  • Clamping fixtures
The training will take place in our academy situated in Dudley where you will be required to attend a 6 week programme prior to starting the apprenticeship and you will spend 2 days per week gaining your Level 1 Certificate in Engineering. On successful completion of this, you will move onto your apprenticeship where 1 day a week will be spent in classroom/workshop based learning to gain your Level 2 Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations and Diploma in Engineering and Technology and 4 days with your employer. On successful completion of your Level 2 Apprenticeship, you will then be ready to progress to a Level 3 Apprenticeship Programme.

The company are looking for someone reliable and conscientious with a passion to work in an engineering environment, mechanical dexterity, the ability to concentrate for long periods, maths and measuring skills, hold a positive and a good attitude.

Applicants must have a minimum of 5 GCSE Grade C (4) or above in English and Maths or equivalent.
