Project Manager required to join a Tier 1 automotive supplier.

Reporting to the Technical Director, the Project Manager will be responsible for the day to day activities required to deliver customer projects, on time, on budget and to JRM’s high quality standards. Our advanced engineering and motorsports projects are as varied as our customers' requirements, can range from short design and build requests to larger projects spanning several months, involving engineering design, fabrication and workshop builds and vary in size from £10k to £1m.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

As Project Manager you will be responsible for:

·The project management of all projects

A project is defined as a group of tasks, that requires the input from one or more departments. The management responsibility includes developing accurate project costings, producing company approved proposals, monitoring and maintaining work progress, and ensuring cross departmental communication.

·The management of the project budget, working with the Finance team to monitor all costs and benefits against budgets and forecasts, throughout the life of project

·The initial planning of the project and monitoring its progress, supporting the resolution of issues and initiating corrective actions on a timely basis

·The establishment, maintenance & tracking of project & departmental resource plans.

It is recognised that in order for cross-department project plans to function correctly the company must eventually have in place a fully functioning work-load and resource plan for Technical Group.

·Continuing to develop key project performance metrics support new project forecasting

Understanding the success of any project is a key part of understanding the accuracy of the costing process, the project profitability, and the actions required to improve the process on future projects. As a result, and working with Finance, it will be the responsibility of the department to develop the tools and metrics necessary to achieve these objectives.

·Supporting the development of the Project Management operational budget in line with the strategic requirements of the business and the Technical Group.

·Compliance with all departmental H&S requirements

·Compliance, where appropriate with management, & environmental, systems, such as ISO 9001 & ISO 14001

Key Skills & Requirements

Excellent written and spoken English.Competent user of IT, MS Office to a high standard. MS project or other project management software desirable.Good attention to detail and a practical approach to problem solving.High experience in Project Management.University degree graduate, or equivalent.
