History is an extremely successful subject at Graveney School. We employ a range of dynamic teaching styles and are committed to innovative curriculum development. Students study History for two hours a week from Year 7 to 9. It is a popular subject at both GCSE and A Level. There are currently over 300 students studying History for GCSE in Years 10 and 11. Last year students achieved 92% A*-C at GCSE, well above the national average.
Graveney also has a large sixth form with over 200 students studying History A level. Again, results are well above the national average at Key Stage 5. A large number of our students go on to read History at university with many studying at Russell Group universities and Oxbridge.
Members of the Department also teach Politics at A Level and we welcome candidates who also have an interest in teaching this subject, although it is not a requirement.
