FINANCIAL CONTROLLER; BRISTOL; CONTRACT
Working for our client based near Bristol, you will be experienced in cost management and have a project management officer background.
You will drive performance management and improvement, analyses quantitative and qualitative data on performance against budgets/targets highlighting discrepancies and risks & opportunities.
Proposes/coordinates mitigation actions if needed to support discussions and decision making at Management level.
Controls Programs and Operations actuals vs. forecasts, corrective measures, hourly-rates, price audit).
Contributes to earned value management when required and contributes to cash planning (capex, inventory, supplier spent planning). Uses financial processes and tools, basic legal and HR processes, and basic project management and technical knowledge in operational areas.
Ensures timely and meaningful planning & reporting, establishes consolidated financial reporting (define, harmonise and ensure consistency and compliance, incl. tools).
Manages targets set by programs (non-recurring and recurring cost) through convergence process.
Accountabilities / Major End Results;
Ensure the provision of financial information, advice & support to management teams to optimise awareness of financial performance in all areas of activity.
Produce timely & reliable monthly management information for finance teams, including consolidation of all activity in Europe, and ensure deployment of robust mechanisms to monitor and control financial and operational risks.
Manage the monthly financial review process with management teams to ensure full visibility of financial performance across the spectrum of contributors to activities.
Administer the local booking structure for within the UK, respecting the requirements of the central programme.
Drive the process for to ensure robust financial planning and consistency with company financial objectives.
Support the challenge process for all budgets to ensure optimisation of targets and rapid agreement & sign-off with plants & functions.
Support the configuration change process and develop a process for financial justification & authorisation of major modifications, to ensure effective control of the budget perimeter.
Liaise with both Central Finance and Plant Finance teams to co-ordinate inputs to the budget process, provide effective support to the target challenge and matching phase, and ensure rapid agreement and sign-off with plants & functions.
Interface on a day-to-day basis with management teams to address and resolve business issues and ensure full awareness of financial performance, risks & opportunities in all areas of activity.
Provide timely & reliable management information to Central teams, including consolidation of all plant activity in Europe as well as UK plants and engineering, ensuring that financial reporting deadlines are achieved and that risks & opportunities are clearly identified.
Facilitate and manage the "drumbeat" monthly financial review process ensuring the full involvement of relevant task leaders in order to cover financial performance across all contributors to activities.
Provide finance support to the meetings and financial justification and authorisation of major modifications, liaising with central finance team as necessary to ensure clear understanding of budget impact
Track risks and opportunities to the business case commitment.
