SEN Learning Mentors required for EBD PRU school in Sittingbourne
Teaching support are excited to be working with an EBD/SEBD behavioural school in Sittingbourne who are looking to recruit a number of Learning Support Mentors to start throughout March into Easter.
The school supports students from KS1 – KS4 with EBD/SEBD, with roles to cover a variety of different Key Stages. The environment can be very challenging in terms of behaviour however the senior leadership team look to promote staff members that work hard and make a lasting positive impact on their student’s.
The positions will start on a temporary basis with the option of going permanent after a number of weeks working with the academy through Teaching Support.
It is essential that you have some of the below experience:
Experience of supporting children/young adults with extremely challenging behaviour.
A keen understanding of being able to create bonds with students that have had challenging backgrounds and to be able to quickly build trust.
Worked within a PRU or with students within the past 24 months
Experience supporting students within SEN school’s or candidates with a mental health support/young offender’s background would be strong candidates.
Being of a firm nature when necessary.
Any experience of restraint training is highly advantageous but not necessary. Training on Team-Teach will be provided. You will be required to restrain pupils on occasions.
Solid knowledge and experience supporting students with EBD in 1:1 or group settings is also advantageous.
The rate of pay is £75+ per day for the right candidates.
