Job Title - Maintenance Engineer
Location - Droitwich
Package - £30,000, increasing to £32,000 after probation (overtime available)
Shifts - 4 on, 4 off (days and nights / 12 hour shifts)
Training - Siemens S7 (levels 1, 2 & 3)
Our client is on the world's largest producers of containers and bottles for the Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Industries. With over 150 sites globally they produce trillion of units per year on their custom design and built injection moulding, blow moulding and stretch blow moulding machines.
Their Droitwich site specialises in the manufacture of Milk Bottles for the Dairy Industry. With eight fully automated lines, running 24/7, the site is producing over 1 million bottles per day.
The Maintenance Engineer will be focused primarily on PPMs, which account for 70% of the work day to day. The PPM system is fully computerised, with a full Continuous Improvement program running to further reduce downtime. Tasks include lines walks, electrical safety checks, fluid and oil checks, filter changes and mechanical inspections. The remaining 30% will be spent assisting with breakdowns.
Electrically the Maintenance Engineer will be Fault finding on electrical components using both a multimeter and PLCs via HMIs, changing electrical components, running new cables and trucking, changing motors, sensors and thermocouples; plus Performing electrical safety checks as part of PPM schedule and checking trips and fuses.
Mechanically the successful candidate will be fault finding and changing mechanical components like Hydraulic pumps, hoses, cylinders and rams, valves, pneumatic cylinders and rams, hoses, valves and actuators, bearings, rollers, conveyors, slats, gearboxes, shafts, trunking, pumps and pipework, plastic pellet screw injectors, injector nozzles and vacuum transfer systems. There will also be Oil and filter changes, general greasing, strip down and rebuilding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems. No machining, welding or fabrication is required.
To be successful in your application the client is looking for the following skills and attributes:
- Must have a recognised Electrical Qualification.
- Must have experience performing maintenance tasks on Electromechanical systems.
Due to the excellent internal training structure the business has to offer, our Client is able to take candidates either straight out of their Apprenticeship or from the Armed Forces.
