Spring Technology is currently working in partnership with a leading financial organisation to recruit a System Administrator based in the City of London.

The Role
*As the System Administrator & Senior Deskside Engineer you will be responsible for managing the Global workplace environment offering constant evolution to end-users.
*You will continuously improve and guarantee the smooth-running of the Workplace in a complex and international context. You'll be involved in business projects and keep a constant eye on new technologies in order to improve global users' deskside, taking into account the specific needs of different regions.
*This is done by conducting analyses, providing technical solutions, researching and documenting IT processes systems and technical designs.
*The role involves a lot of coordination and communication with other stakeholders around the globe both in the IT Service team, business managers and 3rd-party vendors.

The Responsibilities
*This role is a split between System Administrator (Windows) & Senior Deskside Engineer you will handle a range of responsibilities for the Global Deskside Team including:
*Responsible for the design and development of Workplace solutions (Windows image creation and maintenance, patching, security processes) according to requirements, and implement significant process improvements
*Responsible for the entire Packaging life cycle, supervising a small team of externals and including patch processes, administration, reporting, metering and contact with providers
*Provide and maintain methods and processes used within Deskside functions. This includes the analysis of existing processes and methods, the improvement and introduction of more efficient processes and methods where appropriate and close cooperation with other IT functions
*Participate in the governance of Deskside providers
*IT Analysis: conduct ad-hoc as well as regular analysis, documentation, processes, data, etc. as required
*Investigate IT procedures, standards and/or guidelines and evaluate existing processes
*Research new technologies in the marketplace and proactively suggest improvements accordingly
*Project Support: deliver small projects under the supervision of the project manager and act as DSS representative on IT projects, in the respective regions
*Work with key project managers and IT leadership to document project scope, plan, timing, costs, risk and deliverables
*Coordinate IT project resources and key project dependencies to achieve project goals
*Define, develop and conduct the implementation of processes, procedures, metrics & measurement programs. Monitor and continuously improve processes by leveraging on industry-accepted models and standards
*Support teams within the IT Department with ad-hoc requests from management and stakeholders
*Ensure all required documentation is complete and in line with guidelines.
*Participate in a small team of dedicated IT personnel to provide IT support for company VIPs (standard working hours)

The Requirements

*Expertise in Microsoft operating systems Windows 7 and 10,
*Expertise in Microsoft SCCM Administration (Application, Microsoft & 3rd party), software update deployments (Ivanti Patch), Querying and Reporting, Software Metering & Windows 10 Servicing), Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) for Windows Gold image creation
*Strong experience in an IT department handling complex Windows deskside issues, ideally in an international context.
*Understanding of Business Continuity Processes
*Experience managing projects (ideally Prince 2 qualified)
*Ability to conduct analyses and research
*Able to express ideas and messages clearly and confidently, both in writing and verbally
*Comfortable presenting and discussing complex ideas with non-technical stakeholders and managers
*Able to steer and negotiate with service providers
*Fluent English and at ease in an international and multi-cultural environment

*Good experience on Video conferencing system (ideally Tandberg)
*Good experience in Maintenance and deployment (OSD) for the business (sole responsibility), Active Directory and Group Policy creation, deployment and Management (AGPM)
*Good experience in the CMDB management
*Good understanding of hardware including 3rd Party Vendor Global SKU Management (Microsoft Surface Pro, HP, Fujitsu and Lenovo Laptops) for the team
*Good understanding of LAN/WAN Network and VoIP
*Good knowledge of print server administration & maintenance
*Experience of Licensing Management
*Experience of Mobile Device Support (iPhone, AirWatch, iPads, Microsoft Surface Pro)
*ITIL Foundation certified or good understanding of ITIL processes including Change Management (attending CAB)
