We have an immediate requirement to appoint an HVAC Building Services Design Engineer to work as part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers working in our Innovation Design and Solution (IDS) centre. You will be responsible for the production of design deliverables for large commercial buildings across all our divisions.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design and sizing of HVAC systems
  • Design of piped services including; chilled water systems; refrigeration systems; sprinkler system; compressed air and dehumidification systems
  • Develop HVAC load calculations
  • Production of design documentation such as drawings, reports and specifications
  • Assisting with developing and encouraging sustainable development
  • Conduct buildings, Utilities, HVAC audits and surveys
  • Project management (planning, schedule of work, cost and procurement)
  • Attend internal and external design review and progress meetings
  • Produce specifications and outline designs
  • Procurement of HVAC & Building Services Equipment and continued liaison with the supply chain
  • Record and Review as-built information
  • Production of Design Risk Assessments
  • Supervising the production of Operation and Maintenance Manuals
  • Qualification/Competency
  • Chartered Engineer (MCIBSE) status or similar and/or degree level qualification
  • Good working Knowledge of Safety, Health Environment and Quality Standards and Regulations including CDM 2015
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office Packages
  • Knowledge and use of CAD packages such a REVIT and a good working knowledge of BIM
  • Excellent working knowledge of building regulations, CIBSE guidelines, industry standards and best practice
  • Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
  • Knowledge of sustainability assessment methodologies such as BREEAM or LEED
  • Good understanding of dynamic thermal modelling
