We have available an opportunity for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a global manufacturing group following a significant period of growth.
The night shift hours are 9.10 pm - 6.35 am Monday to Thursday
As a multi skilled engineer you will be required to maintain the site production and plant equipment to achieve optimum up time and performance. You will proactively contribute to all continuous improvement strategies as well as some building maintenance activities that may be required within the role.
Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager be responsible for the following:
Ensure the equipment and environment is operated and cared for and meeting all
To strive to improve the efficiency and eliminate costs from the business
Repair and maintain all factory equipment and machinery in a timely and efficient manner
Follow work schedules and react to production priorities
Ensure the workshop area is maintained according to housekeeping standards
Understand and follow departmental operating procedures
Drive and promote OEE / Downtime / PPM / TPM
Most of the role will be planned maintenance with some reactive in time.
Complete PPM schedules and input data into site CMM system
The ideal Multi Skilled Engineer will have the following skills, experience & qualifications:
From an FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Packaging, Print or similar high volume, high speed manufacturing environment.
Atime-served engineer with minimum of NVQ level qualifications.
NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds or equivalent as a minimum qualification or 4 years craft apprenticeship or equivalent with the ability to demonstrate o the job experience including multi-skilling
Qualified with 17th Edition Regs.
Experience and working knowledge of using a CMM system
Experience and working knowledge of TREND BMS systems
Knowledge in continuous improvement techniques, 5S, SMED, Lean and Six Sigma an advantage.
Fully conversant with intricate, electro-mechanical control systems.
Fully compliant with Elec/Mech schematics
Experience with Vision and Laser Systems
Able to understand and improve complex process systems through the use of well developed PLC software skills (Siemens/ABB PLC) and work safely on integrated processes such as hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Desirable - Recognised Engineering qualification - HNC / Degree or equivalent
