GDS has a new opportunity available for a Software Developer to join the team in Beverley. The role is a full time, permanent position offering a salary that is negotiable depending on experience, up to £32,000.
GDS was formed to provide low cost, easy to use business management software for Motor Trade professionals. Since our inception, as Garage Data Systems, in June 2006 we have installed our GDS Workshop Manager system in over 1800 workshops across the UK and Ireland.
What are the responsibilities of the Software Developer?
We are seeking a multi skilled programmer with a broad set of skills and experience. You should be proficient in Visual Basic 6 and T-SQL to help maintain and develop our popular workshop management systems.
You must have good communication skills as part of the role will involve liaising with our Management, Helpdesk and Admin teams to report on and investigate potential problems or queries which could be raised by customers and may involve analysing code in the software or the SQL Server Database.
What skills do I need to have to become a Software Developer at GDS?
Our products rely heavily on T-SQL stored procedures and functions, so you should have working knowledge of these. Our Software Developer must be a motivated individual with a Can-Do attitude and able to work on your own.
Some basic App development experience would be advantageous because the business develops and maintains its own Smartphone and Tablet Apps using the Cordova framework.
Experience of a source control system such as TortoiseSVN or SourceSafe is desirable.
