Position Description:

Electrical Engineering Commercial Vehicle Software Release Engineer.

Working in the Electrical Engineering department at Ford Dunton on current and future models of the Transit vehicle lines market leaders in the UK for over 25 years.

The FI and Software Application team has responsibility for integrating the large number of electronic modules on the vehicles communication buses.

Specific tasks include: Define required software functional growth plans and delivery dates.

Review and agree these with the various Ford module engineers and suppliers.

Manage all CV program software deliveries to Ford, ensuring they meet all specification and test requirements in line with Software Change Control Board (SCCB) procedures.

Maintain all CV programs software Bill-of-Materials (BOM) and ensure all prototype test facilities and vehicle fleets are updated in line with this via software update packs.

Skills Required:

Demonstrated excellent Project Management / Co-ordination skills.

Good Interpersonal and Communication Skills.

Knowledge of Software development, control and tracking processes.

Experience of software flash/updating processes.

Experience of Electrical Network Systems.

Skills Preferred:

Experience of Ford, Experience of CAN tools including CANalyser, CANoe, DET.

Experience of Vehicle Electrical Network Systems.

Experience of Ford Product Development processes including GPDS.

Experience of engineering processes and tools e.g. eFDVS, SCCB, IVS, FTEP, FMEA, 8D, FMEA, FIP.

Experience Preferred:

Demonstrated experience in automotive Electrical/Electronic Systems.

Education Required:

HND/HNC in Engineering.

Electrical preferred.

Education Preferred:

Engineering Degree.

Electrical preferred.
