Software Support Analyst - Finance

Our client, a market leading, construction specific software provider, requires a Software Support Analyst - Finance to deliver a high quality responsive support service to the company's customers for all products and applications.

The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting (including knowledge of double entry bookkeeping) and business processes within a work environment or gained academically. Ideally they should hold an accounting degree or be AAT, ACCA or CIMA qualified or currently studying towards it. Candidates should be analytical, able to logically prioritise and escalate issues and have proven problem interrogation skills for business systems. In addition to this, their software knowledge should include accounting or estimating/costing systems. It would also be useful if candidates had ITIL practical experience or hold ITIL foundation certification.

Duties of the Software Support Analyst - Finance

  • Take ownership of incoming customer support requests pertaining to COINS software and perform initial investigations and diagnosis through to incident resolution. Primarily using remote connectivity technologies to access customer servers and possible requirements for onsite trouble shooting activities
  • Make sound judgement of logged financial issues to enable quick and efficient
  • Act as a point of contact for all Clients and end users within the user base
  • Provide ongoing client contact throughout life cycle of logged software issues
  • Perform Customer account management administration duties
  • Apply analytical and system manipulation skills of databases, enabling understanding of underlying source of logged incidents
  • Provide precise and effective advice and guidance to end users requiring configuration and software usage tuition at the same time as working through bug related replication
  • Maintain a comprehensive and intuitive database / support ticket log of customer application issues

Required Skills and Experience of the Software Support Analyst - Finance

  • A firm IT related background and accountancy experience is desired for this position.
  • Ideally at least 1 to 2 years work experience in an application support role
  • Experience of supporting packages involving the account suite within the Construction Industry is advantageous
  • Understanding of UNIX and Windows operating platforms coupled with web interface experience and skills will also prove invaluable
  • Experience in using the COINS ERP software is favourable
  • History of resolving accounting problems and queries sourced from an ERP system is also very advantageous
  • Historically this role has been suited to personnel whom have worked in an accounts environment or a similar field, and would like to make a transition to a more IT based/driven role

Salary: £25k-30k, plus benefits
