I am recruiting a Marine Systems Engineer to work for a FTSE 250 Engineering Support Services Organisation in Bristol. This role functions within their Marine and Technology Division, which provides vital engineering services to key clients, such as the Royal Navy.

The team of Marine Systems Engineers will undertake engineering investigations of, and provide technical advice and recommendations for, engineering projects. This includes, in conjunction with the other members of the Engineering Team, acting as the focal point in identifying issues and risks associated with marine systems design intent.

  • Carry out technical investigations and analyses, including evaluation and selection of technical options, preparing reports with recommended courses of action.
  • Evaluate engineering technical issues and, through the application of systems engineering principles, make technical recommendations.
  • Conduct impact assessments of proposed changes to maintenance, technical documentation and broader Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) functions of in-scope Marine Systems.
  • Support design and safety reviews in order to identify technical and safety risks.
  • To liaise with all Technical Services functions to ensure that cross-system integration issues and safety aspects of technical tasks are addressed.
  • Provide management information as required.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements to the service and improvements to the marine systems design baseline.
  • Comply with the Company safety rules and regulations or local procedures and any Company initiatives to improve safety.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of an HNC in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of the engineering design or support of complex engineering systems or equipment, ideally Naval.
  • A proven ability to work in a collaborative manner across a multi-disciplinary team and stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a market-leading organisation on a high profile project and progress your career in an interesting environment. If you are looking for your next opportunity, please either apply online or contact Gemma Rogan on ************* or at
