Let's not beat about the bush - your approach can be a tad annoying, especially to people who are happy with the status quo.
But for you...well, the status quo were (probably still are) a band that your Dad liked. You...well you just see the world as a place with lots of opportunities to make things work better.
And that's exactly what we need.
We need a genuine trail blazer - someone who can wield their metaphorical machete and cut a path through the jungle (well, let's say overgrown garden) that is our clients current software development and delivery process.
Like an office Tarzan ( or Jayne) in a suit, you'll swing from team to team, bridging the gaps between developers (they can be a maverick bunch), ops ("why won’t the devs just follow the process") and infrastructure.
With Continuous Service Improvement front of mind, you'll be tasked with the responsibility to develop and improve operational practices and governance to protect cloud production estates, whilst looking to streamline sign off processes to ensure efficient delivery in to production using an agile delivery approach.
That sums it up really...plus you'll be given free rein to get to the root causes of key issues that are bogging down the teams and giving them headaches they don't need. In fact, you'll probably become a bit of a hero!
As it's an enterprise environment and a fairly cautious culture, you'll need to be able to confidently and constructively speak your mind (hey, you're Tarzan..or Jayne...so no issues there!) and provide compelling reasons why changes are needed and the benefits they will bring to the business.
But you can't just base your recommendations on theory...they'll have to be tried and tested in your previous roles.
The role comes with challenges (we're not going to sugar-coat this), but which role doesn't? It's a very dynamic environment...which means you'll be juggling lots of hot potatoes and will need to be able to adapt to rapidly changing priorities. But that means that literally, no two days are the same.
If you're up for this and can show us that you've got the following in your tool box, then pull those shoulders back, raise you chin, cup hands to mouth and blast out that Tarzan call....or just call ping us an email with your CV attached and we'll set up a call. Not as much fun, but a bit more civilised.
