The Successful Applicant for this Primary Teaching Assistant role will be recent a graduate from a top university who has achieved a 2:1 or better in their chosen subject, ideally with successful previous experience working with children. If you find yourself lacking in experience but are still passionate about pursuing a career in education and are eager to make you first steps, then this role could still be ideal for you. This Primary Teaching Assistant role is open to those who have the personal skills to form meaningful relationships with others and who also has an abundance of energy and enthusiasm. The school wants to see graduates who have a passion for their specialist subject and aspirations of becoming a teacher in their specialism. You should be able to demonstrate an honest passion for the institution and be caring and nurturing to all your students.
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, your role will involve you working in a specific class based on your skills, specialist subject and experience. You will contribute to the general push to raise attainment and focus learning by supporting booster groups and 1:1 intervention sessions. The successful Primary Teaching Assistant will have the chance to help lead some extra-curricular activities and be expected to follow the creative philosophy of this department. Part of your training will include you leading a whole class on your own, taking on the responsibility of planning and delivering your own lesson.
