Urgent requirement for an experienced Compliance Officer to join their leading company in Belfast.

This is a temporary position until July 2018 with an immediate start – potential to be extended.

Job Purpose:
You will be responsible for the provision of safety, compliance and technical support service for the Property Department.

Essential Criteria:
· Minimum of 3 years construction related experience
· Previous experience of assessing construction related risk and method statements
· Minimum of a HNC/HND in a construction related discipline
· Possess a NEBOSH certificate
· Experience of using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
· Full current driving licence

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· Co-ordinate Health & Safety within the department, ensuring compliance is in line and with statutory regulations, Codes of Practice etc.
· Co-ordinate and manage weekly Health, Safety and Environment responses for the Property Department
· Co-ordinate Health & Safety training for direct labour, external contractors and consultants
· Manage Asbestos and Legionella management and other contracts as directed
· Prepare risk assessments and method statements as well as review and approve
· Attend Weekly Operating Notice meetings to coordinate any Property works
· Make arrangements for track possession
· Prepare schedules and tender documentation
· Provide advice to new building and refurbishment projects
· Undertake works in line with programme and budget costs, to process invoices for regular transmission to Purchasing or Finance Departments and ensure effective controls are being implemented in respect of changes and variations
· Ensure that all works are in compliance with statutory requirements
· Undertake Health & Safety (site checks) inspections, prepare reports and maintain Health & Safety records
· Control, maintain and develop Health & Safety files, and various Registers
· Prepare accurate and timely reports on health, safety and environment for the Property Department
· Lead, develop and deliver regular Health, Safety and Environmental awareness campaigns and training presentations to staff at all levels
· Observance of Company policy, standards and procedures and facilitate compliance
· Perform duties in accordance with Statutory and Corporate Health, Safety and Environmental requirements
· Comply with the requirements of the Safety Responsibility Statement and advance the targets detailed in the current Safety Plan and any other corporate or departmental safety initiative
· Ensure all works are properly implemented and progressed in accordance with Company policy, standards and procedures
· Ensure effective controls are being implemented in respect of changes and variations
· Represent Property Department at meetings with internal and external stakeholders in relation to your areas of responsibility and ensure that corporate policy is followed in the decision/action taken regarding the outcome of such interaction
· Ensure appropriate consideration is given to the organisations equality duties as well as specific commitments associated with your job role
